SOPA AND PIPA; YOU BITCH

The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) is a law (bill) of the United States proposed in 2011 to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods. Proposals include barring advertising networks and payment facilities from conducting business with allegedly infringing websites, barring search engines from linking to the sites, and requiring Internet service providers (ISP) to block access to the sites. The bill would criminalize the streaming of such content, with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

I do not live in USA so I will not be affected by this bill, but the thing that angers me is that ANY website made by the US if this bill is passed will be shut down and penalised. This means that other countries that access material from a US website are blocked. Now I don't get me wrong, copyrighting is bad everyone knows that but if you pass this bill I'm sorry but almost everyone in the world. Or at least anyone with internet access will be freaking pissed. 


Okay let me break this down for any of you who are still confused about all this new pending legislation crap. ANY WEBSITE WITH A DOT COM IS AMERICAN AND WILL BE SHUT DOWN AND PROSECUTED IF SUSPECTED OF COPYRIGHT MATERIAL IF THIS SOPA AND PIPA BILL IS PASSED.

So I will also participate in this protest because well just like any other American citizen I'm pissed with you. 

I've read articles and information about this but the real reason I am angered is because they shut down Mediafire. Yes, Mediafire does have a shitload of copyrighted material but are you freaking serious I am so pissed right now. Read the article here. What about Youtube and Facebook there is also copyrighted material on there. Just seriously ANY website made by the US. Yes, there are a lots of other site? But I don't think you are going by this the right way America. You're just going to turn your country against you.
